[AU/NZ] CPT Online Ranking Event for Asia/Oceania – August 7th

Last week Capcom announced the online ranking events for this year’s Capcom Pro Tour. One of the two Asia/Oceania online ranking events includes covers Australia and New Zealand. This is a rare opportunity for Australian Street Fighter V players to get involved with the CPT without the need to travel.

Date: Sunday, August 7th
Time: 10:00am Singapore Standard Time (SST)
Locations: Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam
Requirements: Challonge account, wired internet connection with minimum 3Mbps upload speed.
Entry Fee: Free; tournament capped at 256 players.

Although entry is free, places are strictly limited and at the time of posting almost 70 of the slots have already been taken. If you meet the requirements and are interested in participating be sure to read the rules on the CPT website then sign up via Challonge.

GooGie’s Online MKX Tournament #7 – Results

The 7th in GooGie’s monthly online tournament series for Mortal Kombat X took place recently. Nxnja put in an impressive showing by placing 2nd in his first online tournament, with victory ultimately going to Wazminator. Here are the top 3 results:

[AU/NZ] GooGie’s Online MKXL Tournament #7, PS4 – June 5th

GooGie’s next online PS4 Mortal Kombat XL tournament has been announced for the first week of June. Once again GooGie is providing a pot of $50 for the winner and additional prizes will be announced soon.

Entry is restricted to Australian and New Zealand players with proven stable wired connections. Instructions and live updates will be provided via this Facebook page so be sure to have it open during the tournament.

GooGie’s Online MKX Tournament #6 – Results

Results Round-Up – March 12th-13th

There were two significant tournaments held in Australia last weekend. First up Stick Addiction held their monthly meet-up at Three D6 featuring Street Fighter V. Will faced Mikey in the grand final, starting strong by resetting the bracket with a 3-0 win. Mikey stepped it up in the second set with his Necalli but couldn’t keep Will from a close 3-2 victory.

The other big event was the 5th round of GooGie’s online AU/NZ tournament series for Mortal Kombat X last Sunday. This was the first time this series has been held since the release of MKXL. Host GooGie from Melbourne squared-off against Sydney’s offline tournament organiser Gilbagz in the grand final. In the end GooGie took the win with Takeda over Gilbagz’ Sub-Zero.

GooGie’s Online MKX Tournament #3 – Results

GooGie’s 3rd online tournament for Mortal Kombat X went down last Sunday. Once again the event was in high demand, generating over 3 hours of match videos. In the end it was SXC2k15 MKX champion N-Megabytes that emerged victorious, defeating ImCastiel in the grand final.
