[Per] Evolve 2016 Pop Culture Expo – September 3rd-4th

The Evolve Pop Culture Expo taking place in Perth the weekend following OHN14 will feature a tournament for Street Fighter V. This tournament has an impressive line-up of prizes that will be of particular interest to those seeking entry into the Capcom Pro Tour 2016 finals. The winner of SF5 at Evolve 2016 will receive a flight, accommodation and entry into the South East Asia Majors 2016 in Singapore, a global premier event for CPT 2016.

Here are the details for Evolve 2016 along with a photo of the exclusive Ken statue in the tournament prize pool.

[Can] Andrometa – May 14th Results

Last Saturday the Stick Addiction crew organised a tournament for Street Fighter V as part of the Andrometa cosplay and gaming showcase in Canberra. The tournament was won by Sydney’s Genxa, defeating Kay Seven in the grand final of the single elimination bracket.

[Can] Reminder: SF5 & SSB4 at Andrometa – May 14th

If you’re in Canberra this weekend and not glued to the stream for Battle Arena Melbourne 8 remember that there’ll be tournaments for Street Fighter V and Super Smash Bros for Wii U at the Andrometa cosplay and gaming showcase.

These are single elimination tournaments organised by Stick Addiction, Canberra’s competitive fighting game community. This event is seeking to raise awareness about the Canberra scene and they’ll be looking for support from players to help make a great impression on any new participants as emphasised by organiser Vlad. For added incentive there’s also a first place prize of $400 for the SF5 tournament.

Entry Fee: $10 per tournament

Remember that these tournaments will both feature player caps. Attendees can secure entry by purchasing tickets only before the tournament date.

Vlad from Stick Addiction has provided an update regarding the fighting game tournaments taking place at the Andrometa cosplay and gaming showcase in Canberra. The event will now be taking place in May and feature tournaments for Street Fighter V and Super Smash Bros for Wii U.

The date and venue have both changed since we first covered this event. Here are the current details.

Entry Fee: $10 per tournament

Vlad from Stick Addiction is bringing fighting games to Andrometa, a cosplay and gaming showcase taking place in Canberra in February 2016. There will be tournaments for both Ultra Street Fighter IV and Super Smash Bros for Wii U.

Conventions like Andrometa are a great opportunity for the AU FGC to reach out to a wider audience, helping to raise awareness about our scene and connect with potential players that have yet to experience competitive fighting games in person.

[Melb] CouchWarriors Schedule for PAX Australia 2015

CouchWarriors has published a schedule covering all the events and activities they’ll be involved in at PAX Australia 2015 this weekend. Visit the CouchWarriors website for all the events and times.

CouchWarriors will be running tournaments for a wide range of titles including USF4, TTT2, Smash Bros, UMvC3, GGXRD, KI and DOA5LR. There are also “Learn to Play” sessions for beginners and free casual play for all PAX attendees.

At the end of October the gaming extravaganza PAX Australia will be back in Melbourne. PAX will include a range of fighting game tournaments courtesy of the experienced team from CouchWarriors.

The tournament games on offer include DOA5LR, KI, GGXRD, UMvC3, USF4, TTT2 and Smash Bros.
