tournament rules
Rules for the singles 3S tournament are as follows:
- Game version: Arcade (ver. A board).
- Game settings: Best of 3 rounds, 99-second timer and Damage 2.
- Judgement results will not be replayed.
- Double Elimination using 4 Pools.
- All Matches are best of 3 Games, except for the Grand Final, which is best of 5 Games.
- Makoto vs Ken glitch: if Ken wins a round against Makoto using neutral throw, the game will freeze/reset. Players are asked to avoid executing this glitch. Should the glitch occur, Judges will replay the match if the round count was 1-0 in Ken’s favour. 2-0 or 2-1 to Ken will recorded as a won Game for the Ken player. If it is 1-1 or 0-1 against Ken, the Ken player will forfeit the game. Repeated use of this glitch will be grounds for disqualification of the Ken player, at the discretion of the Judges.
- The tournament will be seeded by a panel of 3S players and tournament organisers from around Australia. The seeding team for 3S includes the following people:
- Ziggy (Tournament Organiser)
- bbbenson, eks and TSC (Sydney 3S Organisers)
- Kechu and Monky (Melbourne 3S Organisers)
- Haichii (Brisbane 3S Organiser)
team tournament rules
Rules for the team 3S tournament are as follows:
- Game version: Arcade (ver. A board).
- Game settings: Best of 3 rounds, 99-second timer and Damage 2.
- Judgement results will not be replayed.
- Double Elimination.
- Players are formed into Teams of 3.
- Players must keep the same character for the entire tournament (Super Arts may vary).
- Characters may be used by multiple players on the same team (e.g. Ken/Ken/Chun Li is permitted).
- Team order is decided at the start of each match.
- Before a match begins, a coin toss will take place. The winner can choose which side of the machine they will use (1P or 2P), or allow their opponents to choose a side.
- The team that gets to choose their side of the machine must reveal their team order first.
- Players compete “team battle” style (i.e. as in CvS2 and KOF2K2) until one team runs out of players. The other team is then the winner of the Match.
- Makoto vs Ken glitch: see SF3:3S rules for details on this glitch.
