OzHadou is continuously seeking ways to expand the appeal of the OzHadou Nationals to all corners of the fighting game community. For OHN14 we’re pleased to announce that Tekken 7 competitor Hayden (Blankaex) will be offering on-site arcade stick modifications exclusively to competitor pass holders.
Hit the jump for Hayden’s summary of what he’ll be offering. Note that Hayden will be charging people on a case-by-case basis and estimates that most work can be done for $10-$20 provided you BYO parts. There’s about 1 week left to register for OHN14, including sign-ups for official and DIY tournaments, so make sure you get in before it’s too late.
Hey, I’m Hayden/Blankaex. I’ll be offering arcade stick modding services at OHN this year.
I’ll be able to do most jobs at the venue. This includes:
- PS4 compatibility conversion
- Installing a new joystick
- Installing custom artwork & plexiglass
- Joystick lubrication
- Installing new buttons
- Swapping balltops/battops
However, I won’t be able to do any jobs that require soldering and the use of other power tools at the venue due to safety reasons – you’ll have to get in touch with me to arrange something another time. The same holds true for other large/custom jobs.
Where to Purchase Parts
I’ll only be providing tools and services, so you’ll need to provide the necessary parts for everything except lubrication. You can purchase parts here:
- in2amusements (AU, limited selection)
- Focus Attack (USA, wide selection)
- Paradise Arcade Shop (USA, decent selection)
- Arcadeshock (USA, decent selection)
- Tek-Innovations (USA, artwork & plexi)
Personally, I recommend the Sanwa JLF as my Japanese stick of choice, and the Crown 307 if you prefer a Korean stick. For buttons, both Sanwa and Seimitsu buttons are good. If you have any concerns about compatibility issues, feel free to contact me and I’ll try to help.
